Age of Confrontation
Los Angeles: Tanstone Group. 1971. Signed Limited Portfolio of Prints. Custom clamshell box. Portfolio of ten lithographs handprinted by Serge Lozingot and William Law III at the Tamstone Group, Los Angeles in January 1971. The edition was limited to 20 numbered portfolios, ten of which were printed with black images on calendered Rives BFK and ten of which have white images printed on black Arches paper. This one is white on black paper with the last print noting that this is an artist's presentation proof. All 10 signed prints are present and in fine condition with fine paper covers. In addition, there are title and content pages as shown. The custom printed box is vg with slight warp to the cover which would likely flatten with flat storage.
The prints are abstract and modernist in nature similar to the bronze and lucite sculptures which Guerriero became known for in the 1960's and 1970s when he was active in Los Angeles. There is limited biographical information found on the arist who apparently changed his name to Roman A. Clef. A lavish production, no other copies were found for sale or in institutional holdings on Worldcat. Fine in vg+ box. Item #18536
